A West Cumbrian organisation is asking people to tell it what they want to see in the area in future.
BEC – which is behind Whitehaven’s Bus Station, Westlakes Science Park, Blencathra Business Centre and new developments such as Whittles Digital and Gaming Hub in Whitehaven and a creative music hub with partners Soundwave – wants to know what else people want to see developed and help shape future projects.
Community Conversation events are set to take place on Monday, 22 May 22 at 10am at Whitehaven’s United Reform Church and Tuesday May 30 at The Carnegie in Workington.
Emma Williamson, community impact manager at BEC, said: “It’s important to give residents the opportunity to have a voice and to be able to contribute to the design and delivery of activities, services and projects that are delivered in their area.
“The aim of the events is to provide a simple, effective, and flexible format for engaging with residents about the things that are important within their community.
“Being part of the decision-making gives residents a sense of ownership for the assets within their community.”
