Tickets have gone on sale for a day of music at a West Cumbrian rugby club.

Workington businessman Adrian Sharp, 56, is organising the event in the town to give people the chance to hear live music over the bank holiday weekend at the end of this month.

He has been working with Workington Town Rugby Club and set up a marquee at its Derwent Park ground for the event on Sunday May 28.

Six bands from across Cumbria will take part in a battle of the bands competition, with the chance to win £500.

Bands taking part are No Good Reason from Workington; The Reets, from Carlisle; Somethin’ Brewin’ from Silloth, Ego Trip, from Whitehaven; Conflux, from Carlisle and Fury vs Us, from Workington.

Adrian said he wanted to put an event on to give people something to do over the bank holiday and have the chance to enjoy live entertainment.

Tickets are £6 in advance from the Workington Town website or the rugby club’s office or £10 on the door.

Doors open at 1pm.
