Furness are the first team through to the semi-finals of the Cumbria League’s Higson Cup.
They bounced back from Saturday’s League defeat by Cockermouth to make Cup progress with a six wicket win at Lindal Moor.
The home side were piut in to bat and their total of 170 all out in 42.4 overs was built largely around two partnerships.
Callum McDougall and Edward Waind put on 55 for the second wicket while McDougall and Aseem Wadhwa managed 68 between them for the third wicket.
But when both McDougall (47) and Wadhwa (55) departed on the same score Lindal never recovered from 147-4 and the last six wickets went down for the addition of only 23 runs.
Furness pro Yash Dubey was the most successful bowler with 3-39 while both Josh Shaw and Harris Woods took 2-25.
Lindal’s top scorer Whadwa made his 55 off 36 deliveries and included three fours and four sixes.
Furness needed only 31.5 overs to knock off the runs, put well on their way by an opening stand of 106 between Dubey and Faizan Ghumman (46).
Bradley Chapples (36) helped Dubey add 56 for the second wicket and although they lost three quick wickets were virtually there to their required target. Dubey top-scored with a run-a-ball 74.
Cameron Troughton was the most successful Lindal bowler with 2-16.
Carlisle are due to entertain Cockermouth in their quarter final this coming Sunday.
Still to be played are the quarter finals – Workington v Cleator (June 11) and Keswick v Whitehaven (Bank Holiday Monday, May 29).
