A Lake District hotel is on the market for £3 million.
The Ryebeck Hotel in Windermere has been put up for sale by the Wildsmith family, which bought the venue in 2004.
It closed at the end of 2021.
The hotel, formerly known as Fayrer Garden Hotel, sits in around five acres of landscaped grounds with 29 en suite bedrooms, a restaurant, residents’ bar and conservatory area, parking for 50 cars and a detached former cottage has five of the en suite bedrooms.
It was built in 1904, on what was formerly part of the Storrs Park Estate, by renowned local builders GH Pattinson, who created many of the unique and much admired Lake District Arts & Crafts houses.
It is being sold by Colliers. Julian Troup, head of UK hotels agency at Colliers, said: “The Ryebeck is a high-profile and prestigious country house hotel located in a prime part of the Lake District National Park, offering unrivalled views over Windermere.
“Its renowned status means we are confident of attracting strong interest from a diverse range of prospective buyers.
“We sold the also another country house hotel, Lindeth Fell, last month which was our 52nd hotel and hospitality sale Colliers has concluded since the beginning of 2021.”
Meanwhile, the Wildsmith-owned Hipping Hall, near Kirkby Lonsdale, has announced it will close for good on July 24.
Hipping Hall, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, opened as a restaurant with rooms around 20 years ago. The hotel has been contacted for comment, but no-one was available.
The Wildsmiths also own Forest Side in Grasmere, which holds a Michelin star.
