A popular pop-up café reopens its doors next week to raise funds for a Cumbrian charity.
The Mosedale coffee shop in the shadow of Carrock Fell is a favourite stop for walkers, cyclists, locals and visitors, offering home made cakes and bakes, soups and
sandwiches.
The café, which is in the Quaker Meeting House in the village, opens on June 7 from 10am to 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, and from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday.
There is also a bric-a-brac barn for bargain hunters and all profits from the café and the barn go to the Northern Fells Group charity.
Café organiser Margaret Rose said: “The Mosedale Coffee shop is an enjoyable community project involving some 50-plus volunteers, cake and soup makers.
“Besides raising funds and profile for the charity it is a very sociable project in which to be involved.”
The Northern Fells Group serves 3,700 residents spread over 200 square miles of rural and often remote areas of the north of the county.
The charity plays a vital role maintaining community life in a sparsely populated region of the county where many live in isolated areas.
