A major business expo will take place in Carlisle later this year.

The Business Expo will be Shout Expo’s fourth annual B2B exhibition in the North West and the first time the event has been held in Cumbria.

It will take place at Carlisle Racecourse on Friday September 22, between 9am and 3pm.

Shout Expo already organise and deliver large, annual B2B exhibitions in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Liverpool. Each exhibition attracts around 150 exhibitors and up to 2,000 visitors.

The inaugural Cumbria Business Expo is set to be the largest B2B exhibition in the region, its organisers said, with hundreds of exhibitors and visitors expected to attend.

Director of Shout Expo, Jordan Conlin, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our B2B exhibitions to Cumbria. Our previous plans for expanding our events into the region were thwarted by COVID, so to finally have the Cumbria Business Expo come to fruition is fantastic.

“The thriving Cumbria business community offers a range of commercial, public sector and private sector organisations. We know there is a huge demand for a large B2B exhibition in the region, so we’re very excited about giving Cumbria businesses the perfect platform to showcase their products and services at their own regional expo.”

Leader of Cumberland Council Mark Fryer said: “We are delighted to be supporting the first ever Business Expo in Cumbria and it is great to hear that it will be in our patch. We want to do all we can to support local businesses in the Cumberland area and the Cumbria Business Expo will showcase the region to potential investors and will put the spotlight on Cumberland.”
