
Velo Club Cumbria’s series of evening time trials continued with former professional Alistair Robinson dominating the Bassenthwaite-Keswick time trial in beautiful early summer conditions.
Robinson tackled the difficult, scenic 13-mile course in a time of 28 minutes and 54 seconds at an average speed of 27mph.
Robinson beat last year’s Club Champion Luke Johnston by 1 minute and 42 seconds while newcomer Craig Mounsey was third in a time of 31.24, ahead of Brian Payton in fourth.
Paul Livesey was the fastest road bike finisher in a fast time of 32.24. Fastest female rider was again Rachael Maxwell in 37.24.
VCC’s club time trials continue on Tuesday, June 13 with the Whinlatter Lorton Hill Climb. The sign-on is from 6pm at Strawberry How, Cockermouth.
