Workington RNLI volunteers were called out after jetskiers got into difficulty off the coast of West Cumbria.

The crew launched their all-weather lifeboat at 12.15pm today, Saturday June 3, after they were alerted by Belfast Coastguard that the jetskiers needed their help.

Four people had gone out on jet skis but two had broken down at the Robin Rigg offshore wind farm, around seven miles off the coast of Maryport.

The other two jetskiers were trying to tow the broken-down vessels to Harrington, but tow lines continued to break.

When Workington RNLI reached them, the jetskiers had managed to restart one of the jet skis.

The lifeboat towed the other back to Harrington after taking the jetskier on board.

It arrived at Harrington harbour at 1.30pm and was met by members of Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team.
