
Workington Town got back to winning ways after a series of defeats when they put 54 points on struggling Cornwall without reply.
The Cumbrians, who welcomed back Carl Forber into the side for the first time this season, scored ten tries although it was Ciaran Walker who continued with kicking duties and finished with seven on target.
It took only five minutes for Town to get their noses in front when ex-Whitehaven forward Jake Bradley, making his home debut, burst onto a short ball and drove over for the opening try which Walker converted.
Cornwall were soon under pressure again but it took until the 14th minute for Town to add to the lead when Matty Henson went over from close range and Walker added the extras.

Cornwall hadn’t threatened at all and Workington were able to add to their lead on 24 minutes when they moved the ball wide and Jason Mossop touched down for an unconverted try.
Henson went in for his second try on 29 minutes, picking-up from the ruck and finding a way through from close-in under the posts for Walker to convert.
Sean Sabutey, Town’s leading try scorer, added to his tally on 33 minutes when he picked up a loose ball and he went 30 metres to score an unconverted try.

Town went into the break with a 32-0 advantage when Grant Reid barged over two minutes before the break and Walker added the conversion.
Cornwall thought they’d scored in the first minute of the second half when Max Anderson-Moore spilled a kick but the referee ruled that he had been pushed and the try ws disallowed.

When they got down the other end Town added to their lead on 44 minutes with Bradley’s second try of the game, again improved by Walker.
It was starting to look like a cricket score when Town were in again on 52 minutes, this time from Jordan Burns who had put in a really determined run at the line. Walker converted.

But in the extremely hot conditions the tempo unsurprisingly dropped and play became scrappy, so that there were no further scores until the last eight minutes.
The two Town props combined with Stevie Scholey setting-up Jordan Thomson for a try on 72 minutes, converted by Walker.
It was Walker who rounded-off the scoring on 75 minutes when he followed-up his own kick to collect and score but this time he couldn’t convert.
