A dog who became badly injured on a walk in the Lake District was given crucial help by a mountain rescue team.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called out at around 1pm on Saturday June 3 to give first aid to the pup.
The dog had been enjoying a walk in the sun with its owner when it badly cut its paw near Torver Low Common, close to Coniston water.
The team had just completed a training session on canine first aid the previous week and said they were well placed to help when Duddon & Furness MRT passed the call to them.
A small party was dispatched in two vehicles and the dog’s paw was cleaned and bandaged on arrival.
The owner and his dog were then driven to their car at Brown How for a forward journey to their own vet.
Four volunteer team members were involved and one family member of one of the crew attended. The incident lasted two hours and 10 minutes.
