Carlisle City boss Jim Nichols has expressed his satisfaction at the squad he has put together ahead of the new season in the Northern League First Division.
Nichols had 22 at the first training session last night, with half a dozen unable to attend because of work or holidays.
“We can’t actually announce players we have brought in until the League registrations are confirmed as they are all non-contract.
“But I am very happy with the ones we have recruited from other clubs and will definitely give us a stronger squad next season.
“We felt last season that we had a good starting eleven but the squad wasn’t deep enough beyond that and now that we have strengthened I think we can go on and build on our performances in Division One.
“We have had one disappointment, though. Robbie Ivison said he was coming back but it appears as though he has signed for Gretna in the Lowland League.”
Carlisle City have also arranged a number of friendlies against the likes of Lochmaben, Workington Reds, Minthorpe Corinthians, Garstang and Kendal Town.
“We are happy with the games we have lined-up in July and I am looking forward to seeing the new lads fit in well,” said Nichols.
