Lancaster City have confirmed the signing of former Workington Reds full-back Matty Clarke.
The 23-year-old joins the Dolly Blues after he clocked up 130 appearances for Workington over a four-year period.
During his spell with the west Cumbrians Clarke scored two goals, one of which against Warrington Rylands in the 2021-22 season was crowned goal of the season.
Clarke had previously played for Kendal Town, Penrith and Bradford Park Avenue and is the first summer signing for City manager Mark Fell.
He will link up with two former Workington team-mates in Brad Carroll and Nic Evangelinos and he told the City website: “I can’t wait to get going, it’s a fresh challenge. Obviously I know Nic and Brad so I already have an understanding of the club and I am excited to push on for the coming season.”
Manager Fell said: “He’s a young and promising talent who is very versatile and we feel as though he is someone who can bring a lot of character to the side. We’ve had our eye on him for a while and it feels good to get a signing through the door.”
