The Cumbria League’s T20 competition really starts to hot up with a full programme of games over tonight and tomorrow night.
The South section kicks-off the action tonight with two games at Furness and Millom.
Furness won their only game so far, beating Millom at home by nine wickets and they follow-up with another fixture at Furness Park, this time against Dalton.
First Division Dalton produced the shock of the competition so far in beating Millom but later lost to Haverigg.
Millom will be looking for their first win after those two defeats when they entertain Lindal Moor but the visitors won their only game so far by five wickets against Haverigg.
Both the other two groups have two games in each tomorrow night.
In the West Egremont and Workington have won their respective opening games and clash at Gillfoot.
Rejuvenated Egremont, however, will be missing some key personnel as they had booked earlier for a trip to the opening Ashes Test at Edgbaston.
Workington’s Kiwi overseas amateur Davis Mills scored a ton in the opening win over Cleator while Egremont’s impressive new pro Vashsal Govind (42no) shepherded his side to a five wicket win at Whitehaven.
Those two defeated sides Cleator and Whitehaven meet at the JD Campbell Memorial Ground.
There hasn’t been a game played in the North group yet so no T20 form lines to study when the opening salvos are fired tomorrow night at Sandair and Lowmoor Road.
Cockermouth entertain Keswick while Wigton have a visit from Carlisle.
