Workington will host Carlisle United in an annual pre-season friendly at Borough Park on Saturday, July 15.

Both clubs are putting together an attractive list of pre-season friendlies as they prepare for football at a higher level.

Reds won promotion to the NPL Premier Division while the Blues won the League Two play-off final at Wembley.

Carlisle have already arranged four friendlies away from home and so far the only Brunton Park warm-up game announced is on Saturday, July 29 against Dundee United.

Before that are trips to Annan (Friday, July 7); Gretna (Tuesday, July 11); Workington (Saturday, July 15) and Newcastle United Under-21s (at Gateshead, Saturday July 22).

Workington will start their campaign with the traditional curtain raiser at Whitehaven on Thursday July 6 for the Shaun Hocking Memorial Trophy.

Dumbarton are at Borough Park on Saturday, July 8 for the second year in row with Morecambe visiting Workington on Tuesday, July 11.

The game with Carlisle is fitted in on Saturday, July 15 while Reds will travel to Whitley Bay on Saturday, July 22 and to Ashington on Saturday, July 29.

The NPL season is due to start on Saturday, August 12 with fixtures issued at the start of July.
