Three Cumbrian MPs voted in favour of a report that found Boris Johnson deliberately misled MPs over lockdown parties at Downing Street.
Conservatives Simon Fell, who represents Barrow and Furness, and John Stevenson, Carlisle, joined Liberal Democrat Tim Farron, who represents Westmorland and Lonsdale, voted to back the Privileges Committee report.
It was overwhelmingly backed by 354 votes to seven, but a number of MPs chose not to vote – including the Conservatives Copeland’s Trudy Harrison, Workington’s Mark Jenkinson and Penrith and the Border’s Neil Hudson.
Mr Jenkinson said the committee had “grossly overreached” in his opinion and its actions would “neuter government and give us beige ministers, afraid even of official advice.”
Mrs Harrison declined to comment and Dr Hudson has been contacted for comment, but Cumbria Crack did not receive a response.
