Carlisle United will start their new life in League One with a home game as they kick off their 2023/24 campaign against Fleetwood Town on Saturday August 5.

The first away game in the League is the following Saturday (12 August) when the Blues travel to the Kassam Stadium to take on Oxford United.
It will stir a few memories for United manager Paul Simpson who left Manchester City in 1988 to join Oxford for £200,000 and went on to play 168 League and Cup games, notching 50 goals.
The first Tuesday night game at Brunton Park will be on August 15 when relegated Wigan will be the visitors. Long midweek trips beckon for Peterborough United, who visit on October 3 and Burton Albion who will play on October 24, brings Wigan to Brunton Park early in the piece.
The first Tuesday night away League game will be quite a trek for United as they travel to relegated Reading on 28 November.
The seasonal games over Christmas and New Year have given United two away and one at home.
They will entertain Port Vale on New Year’s Day, after a Boxing Day trip to Fleetwood while on Friday, December 29 United visit Wigan.
Over Easter it will be away on Good Friday to Peterborough United and home on Easter Monday to Lincoln City.
The last two scheduled games of the season are at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday April 20 and away to Derby County on Saturday April 27.
