Kells will play their first National Conference League game for three weeks tomorrow when they host Premier Division title challengers Rochdale Mayfield.
Like most of the clubs they weren’t involved in any action last Saturday and the week before their game at Wigan St Patrick’s was called-off because the pitch was too hard.
Peter Smith’s men will be itching to get back into action, especially as Mayfield have been something of a bogey team over the years, and they will want to start evening-up the score.
The Rochdale side, too, will be determined to make-up for their last outing a fortnight ago when they were comprehensively beaten 52-20 at Lock Lane.
Kells are only two points better off than the last relegation place so they still have work to do to consolidate in the top flight after last season’s promotion.
Wath Brow visit York Acorn who are level on points with Kells but from having played a game more.
The Hornets are very much in the title race – separating leaders Hunslet Amateurs and third-placed Rochdale Mayfield – and are on a good run of form.
Egremont Rangers’ recent winning surge was ended in Division One last week when they lost 36-20 at leaders West Bowling.
But they can get back into the groove tomorrow when they entertain Crosfields who are fourth from bottom.
Egremont lie fourth top, two points behind second and third, but with a game in hand on each – and those two Skirlaugh and Heworth – meet on Humberside tomorrow.
In Division Two Barrow Island can make progress up the table to the fringe of the play-off race if they take care of Milford in a home game.
Three of the four Cumbrian teams contesting Division Three are involved tomorrow – the only exception being Millom.
Bottom of the table Seaton Rangers, desperately in need of a change of luck, are the only ones at home as they entertain Beverley.
Hensingham are next-to-bottom and they travel to second-in-the-table Oldham St Annes while third-placed Ellenborough Rangers visit fourth-bottom Bentley.
