Maryport won their first trophy of the season last month when they beat Wath Brow A in the final of the E Lamb and Son Amateur Cup.
But equally important this year has been the way the youth section at the club has been growing and progressing.
One of the club coaches Simon Pattinson said: “The club’s youth levels have never been as high and a new girls’ team is getting more players week by week.
“It’s fantastic to see both boys and girls down at the club every week enjoying their rugby and improving their skills.
“We have some under-5s we call mini-marras and the numbers are going up from week to week which is great to see.

“The future of the club has to be bright with so many kids training here and it’s so good to see them turning up week to week, arriving with big smiles on their faces.
“Our under-6s and under-7s have a fantastic turnout each week and this Sunday morning we are all looking forward to a game at Kells.”
The Maryport revival, both in the youth section and the progress made by the senior side, has been one of the success stories in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL.
