A Cumbrian-produced show will make its West End debut next week.

80s Live! has been created by Explosive Productions, based in Carlisle, and headed up by Kirkoswald man Sid Sims, 54.

The show features singers and musicians performing a selection of the best tunes from the decade, including hits from the likes of The Human League, Erasure, Culture Club, Madness, Duran Duran, Wham!, Madonna, Spandau Ballet, Bon Jovi and The Eurythmics.

It has embarked on a UK tour and will be at the Adelphi Theatre in London – home of the hit Back to the Future The Musical – on Tuesday.

Sid said: “It’s been really successful and it’s really exciting to be in the West End. The show is interactive and just makes people want to get up and dance.

“The idea was to create something that would hopefully allow people up and down the country to reconnect with the tunes of their youth, and at the same time unlock the decade’s music for a whole new group of people.’’

Explosive Productions is based at Kingmoor Park Industrial Estate in Carlisle.

80s Live! will be also at The Sands Centre in Carlisle later this year.
