A Workington cycleway is set to be improved after women said they did not feel safe using it.
The path, between Harrington Road and Moorclose Road, will have its lighting replaced and trees and shrubs cut back.
Cumbria police, Cumberland Council, Sustrans and housing associations Castles and Coasts, Westfield Housing, Riverside and Home Group have joined forces to address the issue of violence against women and girls in the community.
Women and girls said they did not feel safe on the path because of signs of alcohol and drug misuse, anti-social behaviour and areas being overgrown and dark.
