Workington Town continued their push for the League One play-offs with a hard-earned 32-24 win at Chester over North Wales Crusaders.
It completed a double for coach Anthony Murray over his old club who have been improving over recent weeks.
Town included two late additions to the squad in young Wigan Warriors pair, winger Reagan Sumner and centre Ethan Fitzgerald, who have joined on loan deals.
But with Ciaran Walker an absentee, Carl Forber resumed kicking duties and added another four goals to his record points haul.
He actually missed his first pop at goal after Ethan Bickerdike had gone over in the fourth minute but he made no mistake with the conversion after Matty Henson had added the second after nine minutes.
It had been a superb start by Town and on 12 minutes they added a third try, this time from Jordan Burns which Forber converted.
The Crusaders were finally stirred into action on 25 minutes when Matt Fletcher made the line and Brad Billsborough added the conversion.
But on 32 minutes Town went over again after Joe Kirkup had produced a great turn of foot over 40 metres to make the line and touchdown. Forber converted.
The Crusaders closed the gap just before half-time with a try from Ryan Ellis which Billsborough converted for a half-time deficit of 12-22.
There was a quick exchange of tries at the start of the second half with Henson going in for his second and Rob Massam replying for the hosts.
Jack Stephenson scored his first senior try for Town but eight minutes from time it became an eight point game when Jack Houghton scored a try for North Wales which Billsborough was able to convert.
But Town held on strongly to secure the points. They make the long trip to Cornwall next week-end.
