Wath Brow Hornets hammered Hull Dockers 52-14 in the National Conference Premier Division to stay second in the table.
West Hull’s 22-8 win at Kells kept them a point behind the Hornets and prevented a west Cumbrian double over Humbersiders.
It was just 14-10 to Wath Brow at half-time but they took complete charge in the second-half scoring seven tries and conceding only one.
Ellison Holgate, Sam Curwen and Scott Goodwin had crossed for the Brow in the first-half with Jamie Moore taking over kicking duties and landing one.
But it was one-way traffic in the second-half as Fran King (2), Curwen, Jay Weatherill, James Dixon, Greg Rooney and Moore all went in for tries. Moore added five more goals.
Just before half-time Kells enjoyed an 8-4 advantage over their visitors from West Hull but a converted try on 38 minutes enabled the Humbersiders to turn round 10-8 to the good.
Three second-half tries, two of them converted, gave Werst Hull enough breathing space as they went on to win and stay on the heels of Wath Brow.
Dominic Wear scored the Kells try and Ross Gainford kicked two goals for a Kells side now having to look over their shoulders at the relegation-threatened quartet below them.

Leon Crellin (3) and Nathan Preston (2) led the Egremont romp and they were joined on the score-sheet by Kristian Tyson, James Messenger, Aaron Turnbull, Dan Telford and Sam Appleby as resistance from the St. Helens side faded away.
Barrow Island couldn’t match Division Two leaders Waterhead Warriors and their 20-0 home defeat leaves them outside the play-offs on points differential.
The Warriors, who look destined for the League title and promotion, scored ten points in each half and held the best that the Islanders could throw at them.
In Division Three Ellenborough’s title challenge appeared to have stalled as they trailed Eastmoor Dragons 20-6 at half-time.
But in a remarkable turnaround, after falling further behind to an early Dragons penalty, Elbra came back to win 46-22 and stay level with Oldham St. Anne’s at the top.
Zac Olstrom had gone over for a try, late in the first-half, and he went on to complete a hat-trick with the other Elbra touchdowns coming from Gary Taylor (2), Kai Gilhespy, Matty Bell and Niall Gray. Owen Hoyles did his bit with seven goals.

Seaton Rangers stay bottom after their 44-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Leigh East. Options were limited for injury-hit Seaton with just three substitutes.
Bright note for the west Cumbrians was the form of centre Lewis Mason who impresses a lot of watchers.
The home side were only 16-0 ahead at half-time and finished with eight tries to stay joint top with Oldham St. Annes and Ellenborough.
