A Lake District Lego Day will be held this weekend to help kick off the summer holidays in style.
The event, at Windermere Jetty Museum, on Saturday from 10am to 5pm, will offer a range of hands-on activities so Lego fans of all ages can channel their creativity and build something spectacular.
Artist and builder of the colossal Lego Lake District, Jon Tordoff, will be there all day, adding to his model and there’s plenty of bricks to get hands-on with in the learning centre where Lego building activities will take place from 10am to 3pm with Fran Ward from C-STEM.
You can also see the big hand mosaic on display that was created collaboratively by Fran and visitors to the museum last summer. Proving to be a big hit with adults and kids alike, is the Lego mini figure hunt. Pick up a map from the ticket desk and explore the museum to see how many of the hidden Lego mini figures you can find.
Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue team will also be onsite with one of their rescue vehicles and on the model boating pond visitors will be able to have a go at driving a model boat with the Windermere Model Boating Club.
Activities are free with admission to the museum, which offers a 12-month ticket for £9 for an adult and £4.50 for a child.
