Workington Reds come face to face with Penrith tonight just 10 weeks since they inflicted a record defeat on the Bonny Blues in the Cumberland Cup final.
The two Cumbrian sides meet in a pre-season friendly at Borough Park which probably has more significance to Penrith.
They start their Northern League campaign on Saturday against Whitley Bay, the side that Reds beat 6-1 at the weekend in a friendly fixture.
No doubt Penrith boss Darren Edmondson will be asking for some guidance from Reds manager Danny Grainger as to what he can expect from the Bay side.
Although Penrith get serious on Saturday, Reds have another fortnight before they can tackle NPL fare with a visit from Ashton United.
Before then they go to Ashington on Saturday and follow-up at Dunston the following Saturday.
Tonight’s Borough Park friendly kicks off at 7.30pm.
