West Cumbria take on Humberside again in two crucial National Conference Premier Division fixtures.
Earlier in the month Kells went down 22-8 at West Hull while Wath Brow were hammering visitors Hull Dockers 52-18.
Tomorrow there are two clashes again, affecting both ends of the table, with the opposition changed but still retaining the Cumbria/Humberside rivalry.
This time Wath Brow make the trek to West Hull while Kells entertain Hull Dockers in hugely significant encounters.
The Hornets and West Hull are regular big-match rivals and this is very much the case tomorrow with the Cumbrians second in the table, one point and one place better off than their hosts.
Kells won Division One last season with Hull Dockers going up with them as runners-up but both are now fighting to stay in the top flight.
A win tomorrow would be a massive help for Kells who are currently fourth bottom, two points clear of the relegation zone but with a game in hand. They lead second-bottom Dockers by four points.
Egremont Rangers will expect to continue their march back to the top flight when they visit the Division One’s bottom side Thornhill Trojans who only have one point from 16 games and who ship on average 35 points a game.
Both sides were relegated from the Premier Division last season but their fortunes since then have been decidedly different.
Barrow Island got themselves back into play-off contention in Division Two last week with a fine 19-12 win at third-placed Shaw Cross Sharks. They have another test tomorrow at Normanton Knights who are also still in contention for the play-offs with games in hand (two on Barrow Island) of every team ahead of them.
Seaton Rangers are the only one of three Cumbrian sides at home tomorrow in Division Three.
They lost narrowly 16-14 at home to Bentley last week, just missing out on a third win, but it will be a lot tougher this week as they host leaders Oldham St. Anne’s.
Ellenborough are second, only by points differential, and they will be looking to keep up the pressure at the top when they travel to Drighlington who beat Hensingham 36-16 last week.
Millom, with Fuifui Moimoi playing two 15 minute stints last week, had a thrilling 18-16 home win over top four rivals Leigh East. Now whether they can use the former NRL star again remains to be seen but tomorrow they are on the road to Beverley.
They are the side immediately below Millom in the table but are some eight points adrift of the Woollybacks and from playing a game more.
Hensingham are next to bottom, four points behind Eastmoor Dragons, and the Cumbrians travel there tomorrow.ReplyReply allForward
