Carlisle United have turned again to Crystal Palace to bring in a forward on loan.

Last season it was JK Gordon who spent time at Brunton Park, and now the Blues have recruited Luke Plange on a half-season loan deal.

Announcing the deal the official Carlisle website said the 20-year-old started life in the Arsenal academy and progressed through the age groups, scoring regularly at every level.

He made his debut for the under-18 side at just 15, and his performances earned him a call from Derby County, where he was invited for a trial.

The signing of a permanent deal with the Rams catapulted him to first-team action and he made his debut from the bench against Bristol City in December 2021.

His first start came in the very next fixture, and he netted the only goal He was nominated for the Championship Player of the Month award for December as he continued to impress and he scored four times in 27 appearances for the Rams.

The forward Signed for Palace for a reported £1m fee in January 2022, but was immediately loaned back to Derby.

He moved to RWD Molenbeek in Belgium in August 2022 and scored five goals in 18 appearances before making another loan move to Lincoln City in January this year but failed to find the net in 18 games.

He has played twice for England Under-20s.
