Very little play was possible on the second day of Cumbria’s NCCA Championship game with Northumberland at Carlisle’s Edenside.
Sunday’s opening day had seen Cumbria bowled-out for 169 before the visitors recovered from 51-5 to reach 195-7 at the close.
But poor weather conditions on Monday greatly restricted play and when they finally gave up the score had only moved on to 220-7. Skipper Oliver McGee, a former Keswick School teacher was 29 not out and Matthew Oswell was unbeaten on 27.
Play is scheduled to resume at 10.30am today but early rain in Carlisle, followed by bright spells, is forecast to return in mid-afternoon so it is very difficult to see a result being achieved.
