
Several arrests have been made in Barrow after an operation by police.
Stephen Callery, 50, of Roby Street, Merseyside, was arrested after a stop and search by response officers on Friday, August 11.
He has since been charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.
He is due to appear before Preston Crown Court on September 11.
The charges are in connection with Operation Rampart, an ongoing investigation into county lines drugs supply.
In a separate incident, two men were arrested and charged on August 12, following a robbery in Barrow on August 8.
Peter Penman, 32, of Dundonald Street, Barrow, and Gareth Fleming, 44 of Roose Road, Barrow were charged with robbery.
Chief Inspector Lee Skelton said: “We work all-year-round to tackle criminality in impacting our communities in Barrow.
“The work carried out over the weekend in Barrow has been successful one-team approach between both response officers and detectives, actively targeting suspects, coupled with some positive proactive stop search work.
“This proactive work sends out a clear message to those who think they are above the law.
“Our message to offenders in the area is that we will be swift in going after those who harm our communities by committing crime.”
