Kendal Town continued their terrific start to the new NW Counties League season with their best performance so far.
They won 3-2 at Gigg Lane against Bury in front of a 3,250 crowd to increase their lead at the top of the table.
It was a really gritty performance by the south Cumbrians as they were twice behind and levelled both times before snatching a late winner.
Bury had the better chances in the first half but could only take one of them when Andy Briggs was put through one-on-one with Chris Cheetham and fired clinically into the bottom corner on 15 minutes.
Cheetham made a couple of good stops and Bury were wasteful with another two opportunities.
Two minutes into the second-half and Kendal were level when Steve Yawson fired home a screamer from 25 yards.
On 55 minutes Bury were back in front. Cheetham dived to palm away a low cross but when the ball was returned to the area Briuggs fired in his second.
The goal rush continued on 61 minutes when James Bailey celebrated his new contract by scoring his tenth goal of the season, a looping header which sailed over the home keeper.
In a gripping finish Kendal won it through man of the match Yawson who showed some great footwork to get in a shooting position before finding the bottom corner in the 65th minute.
Six added minutes at the end failed to produce another goal and Kendal were able to celebrate a famous victory.
