De La Soul pulls out of Solfest 2023

De La Soul have pulled out of this year’s Solfest just days before they were scheduled to perform.

The American hip hop group were set to be the festival’s Saturday headliner, but had to pull out due to logistical problems.

In a statement on social media, organisers said: “Due to the international status of themselves and their band, a couple of important key musicians are now unable to perform on the day for logistical reasons.

“All parties involved tried hard to find a solution, but with the short notice, have come to the mutual agreement that the full De La Soul headline show with a 10 piece live band is what we want to bring to Solfest.

“With that in mind, De La Soul and their band are now confirmed as Saturday headliner for Solfest 2024 – Solfest’s 20th anniversary show.

“We know many of you will be disappointed with this. We are looking at a solution for this year and will get back to you with a replacement booking.”

A replacement headliner is still yet to be announced.

Solfest 2023 starts tomorrow, Thursday August 24 and ends on Sunday August 27.
