Carlisle are now within touching distance of retaining their Cumbria League Premier Division crown.
For while they were beating Whitehaven at Edenside nearest rivals Furness, as well as third-placed Workington were foiled by the weather.
Carlisle inserted Whitehaven and bowled them out for 122 in 49.3 overs.
Whitehaven professional Terance Warde stood firm, holding the innings together with an unbeaten 55.
Chris Blythe, in a fine 10 over spell, took 5-12 while Fraser Conn had 3-32.
Rain did intervene but not enough to cause any abandonment and with a revised target of 119 Carlisle got home with five wickets to spare and in the 31st over.
Marc Brown (52no), Michael Slack (26) and Nico Watt (24) did the bulk of the work at the top of the order.
Lewis Keeler bowled well for Whitehaven, taking 4-9 from just five overs.
Furness seemed well in command at Lindal when the game had to be abandoned.
Put in to bat they had reached 191-6 off 47 overs when play finally stopped.
Nathan Waterston was 58 not out; pro Yash Dubey had made 41 and Mark Daley scored 30. Aseem Wadhwa took 4-39 for Lindal.
Workington fared even worse as they travelled to bottom side Haverigg and were unable to make a start.
The outfield was very wet and just before they were about to get underway the rain arrived and that was it.
Cleator, the third team in trouble at the bottom just above Lindal and Haverigg, did play and were beaten – but still picked-up a point more than their rivals.
They earned five points in defeat in a game which required a revised target to determine the result.
Cockermouth won the toss and chose to bat, making 174-5 in 46 overs with the innings largely built around Sameera Sadamal (51no) and opener Gareth White (51).
Cleator had recovered from 33-3 through the efforts of Abdul Muzammil (66) and Tom Sharpe (45) but in the end fell 15 runs short at 164-6 in 46 overs after a revised target.
Wigton started the season slowly but are finishing strongly, chalking up another win at Keswick.
Put in to bat they made 220 from 48 overs with significant contributions from Lewis Little (47), Chris Hodgson (39), Dan Wilson (36) and George Johnston (30).
Glen Weightman was the most successful Keswick bowler with 5-34.
In reply Keswick were bowled-out for 162 in 43-3 overs led by Paul Hindmarch (43), Ben Sharp (30) and pro Risith Upamal (23).
Lewis Little completed a man of the match performance for Wigton by 5-33 in 8.3 overs.
In the other game Millom were seven wicket winners at Egremont after bowling out the home side for 83.
Ollie Wilford hit 34 for Egremont with Chirag Khurana taking 5-32 for Millom, while Dec Tyson chipped in with 3-3.
Khurana (36no) and Callum High (21no) steered Millom home after they had lost three early wickets.
Millom were using Khurana, the Bacup pro, as a sub professional for a third time.
