Maryport rugby league club’s thriving youth players are nearly ready for the break after a successful season.
There’s one more game to play at Broughton on Saturday and then it will be a case of recharging the batteries ready for the start of the 2024 season.
Looking back on the season coach Simon Pattinson said: “We have a number of coaches with each of the age groups and this season they have had a fantastic group of kids with a great mix of boys and girls.
“All the coaches from each age group have been fantastic, giving up their time and committing themselves to both weekly training sessions and game days.
“This would not be possible or half as successful without them and we really appreciate every single one of them.
“The club can see each kid’s confidence and skills growing week-on-week, which is a pleasure to watch. We definitely have some up-and-coming stars of the future.
“Our coaches have also been busy delivering taster sessions in local schools which we hope will encourage children of all ages and abilities to give rugby a go.
“The Maryport club is committed to growing from the youth up to the open age.
“As we come to the end of the season the club would like to thank all the parents who bring their kids to training and games in all weathers.
“The future is bright and it’s a great time to be involved with Maryport Rugby League club.”
