Two successive defeats have been a jolt to Kendal Town’s system but they still lead the North West Counties Premier Division.
Ramsbottom came from behind to beat them 2-1 at Parkside Road on Saturday as the Mintcakes failed to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat at Colne four days earlier.
Manager Jimmy Marshall is a realist and knows that this is a very tough League where most teams are capable of taking points off all the others.
He said: “You just had to look at the results on Saturday where some of the top teams were dropping points like ourselves.
“We just have to pick ourselves up, train well and go out on Friday night determined to put things right and make-up for the disappointment of the last two games.
“There’s one thing I do know and that’s we have a great group of lads in the dressing room who have shown their capabilities and will do again.”
Kendal picked up the Premier Division Team of the Month award for August while hot shot striker James Bailey won Player of the Month.
They go back into action on Friday night with a home game against Skelmersdale and it will be a big opportunity for Marshall’s men to get back to winning ways.
The visitors have slumped since being relegated from NPL West and have won once in ten games, and lost the other nine.
“I think there’s something special about playing under the lights and I’m really looking forward to it. We had 500 the other week and over 400 on Saturday and that’s great from where we’ve come from.
“If we can get another good crowd on for Friday night and they can get right behind the team I’m sure we will see a performance,” said the manager.
To underline their start to the season Kendal picked-up the Premier Division Team of the Month award for August while hot shot striker James Bailey won Player of the Month.
They still lead the table by four points and nobody has matches in hand whereby if they win them could go past the Mintcakes.
