Whitehaven directors are looking to establish the identity of fans who verbally abused the match officials in Sunday’s game at Swinton.
Haven lost the vital relegation battle 21-20 to a late drop goal and unsavoury comments from members of Haven’s travelling supporters marred the second half.
Today the board said: “A small minority of fans chose to use discriminatory language towards the officials in the second half of the game.
“As a club we have to address this as it has no part of our game.
“The board of directors would like to remind supporters that discrimination in any form is unacceptable and we will be making enquiries to find those responsible and deal appropriately.”
Whitehaven complete their Championship programme at home to second-in-the-table Toulouse Olympique on Saturday afternoon.
The final relegation spot is still very much to play for with Haven level on points with both Keighley and Swinton – but with a slender advantage on points differential.
All three have tough games at the week-end with Keighley in London and Swinton at Halifax – and it could depend on who does best defensively.
