Workington RNLI was called out today after a member of the public spotted a yacht in difficulty off the Port of Workington.
The yacht didn’t appear to be making any headway so the person rang the Coastguard.
Workington RNLI launched the all-weather lifeboat the Dorothy May White at around 4pm.
The yacht’s sail had ripped and it was struggling with the wind and tide.
The all-weather lifeboat assisted the yacht back to Workington by 4.30pm. The one person on board was safe and well.
