A promising youngster at Kirkbie Kendal School has been named the Lamont Pridmore Business Student of the Year for his hard work and outstanding performance.
Owen Burke was selected to receive the Lamont Pridmore Award by his teachers for his continued commitment, and passion for business studies.
Lamont Pridmore’s tax director, Kerry Hindson, presented the award to Owen along with some vouchers to use for book purchases.
She said: “On behalf of everyone at Lamont Pridmore I would like to congratulate Owen on his success and praise his dedication to his studies.
“It is fantastic to acknowledge such an up-and-coming talent in the business sector and we all wish Owen luck and success in his future endeavours.”
From next September, Owen will be studying economics at the University of Calgary in Canada and is currently working hard and to save towards his time there.
Kerry added: “As an accounting firm, Lamont Pridmore recognises that business is essential to the growth of the economy and is a driving force for good, both in the UK and internationally.
“We often offer support and advice to businesses founded by people just like Owen so I am very excited to see his career progress.
“I am sure that he will continue to achieve high praise from his teachers while studying in Canada and I wish him all the best.”
