Arrests after car stopped in early hours in West Cumbria

Workington magistrates court

Three people have been arrested in the early hours after a car was stopped in West Cumbria.

The car was stopped at around 3.35am yesterday, September 23, and the three occupants – two men and a woman – were arrested.

All three have now been charged.

Rachel McTaggart, 44, of Newtown Close, Carlisle, has been charged with going equipped for theft and remanded to attend Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Charlie Pagan, 21, of Castlerigg Drive, Carlisle, has been charged with going equipped for theft. He has been bailed with a 7pm to 7am curfew to attend Workington Magistrates’ Court on October 23.

Ashley Queen, 33, of Dunmallet Rigg, Carlisle, has been charged with going equipped. Queen has been remanded to attend Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Queen has also been charged with a number of other offences relating to a driving incident in Carlisle on August 18.

He has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, displaying false number plates and driving without a licence, without insurance and without MOT.
