Parkside still lead the way in the Premier Division of the West Cumberland Sunday League – four points clear at the top.
But Northside, their nearest challengers have two games in hand, after they also won at the weekend.
Parkside proved too strong for Thornhill, who are trying hard to get themselves competitive after a late start to the season.
It finished 7-0 to the home side with goals from Adam Smith (2), Jake Martin (2), Ellison Holgate, Ben McCarron and Glen Meagan.
Northside were given a sterner test against FC Cosmos before they clinched a 3-2 win to keep Parkside within their sights.
Cosmos dominated the first 35 minutes of the game and deservedly went in front with goals from Lewis Park and Josh Atkinson.
Northside then started to take a few risks in attacking mode and shortly before half-time pulled one back through a superb header by Chad Grisdale.
In the second-half Tommy Whitehead took it upon himself to turn the tide, scoring twice inside 10 minutes to give Northside the lead which they held until the end.
Deer Orchard had been encouraged by their first win of the season last week in the President’s Cup but they lost 4-2 at home to Lowca Pirates after trailing 2-1 at the break.
A quick equaliser at the start of the second half raised hopes but Lowca smashed in a brilliant third goal and a fourth saw them home.
Orchard have a number of youngsters in the line-up and are playing some decent football so are confident the tide will turn with League points arriving soon.
Luke Bewsher-Cannon and Luke Graham netted for Orchard but the Pirates sailed home with goals from Owen Woodburn (2) and Aaron Wynd and they also had the help of an own goal.

One game in the top flight, Moresby Rangers v Blue Bell was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
Sun Inn are stretching clear at the top of Division One and retained their 100 per cent record with a 16-0 win over Seaton Rangers – with due respect to Sun Inn not the sort of result anyone wants to see.
Dan Pearson led the way with six goals while Richard O’Keefe notched four. Louie Elliot claimed a hat-trick with Mark Beaty (2) and Harry Creighton completing the list of goal scorers.
Senhouse Street Club were among the goals too as they beat Whitehaven Royal Oak 8-1.
It was achieved with the assistance of two own goals, while there were strikes from Chris Williams (2), Nick Wood, Kieran Kellett, Declan Moore and Gary O’Driscoll.
In the other game Butcher’s stayed in the leading group with a 4-1 win over The Sun with goals from Tom Bethwaite (2), Jack Burns and Callum Foy. Tom Curry replied for The Sun.
