Storm Agnes is beginning to clear across the North East, but warnings remain in place.
The Met Office said there will still be some strong winds across the north and west on Thursday morning, but it will be a drier day with sunny spells developing for most, particularly in the south and east.
However, further heavy rain is set to arrive in the west later.
