A digital learning suite has been unveiled by Carlisle College, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and software.
The new facility will provide degree students with access to the latest technology and ensure they are ready for the jobs of tomorrow when they graduate.
The suite contains equipment including micro servers, the latest high-tech laptops and Clevertouch screen monitors, as well as iPad Pros and interactive teaching screens.
Ashley Graham, head of higher education at Carlisle College, said: “We strive to provide our students with the best learning facilities. This investment has really helped us to significantly enhance the learning experience of our students, by providing them with the opportunity to use the latest technology and industry standard equipment.”
The new space is the first phase of a three-year investment into higher education facilities at Carlisle College. As part of leading college group NCG, the college has been awarded a share of £6million of funding from the Office for Students to invest into developing its facilities for degree students.
Over the next two years, further investment will be made to equip facilities for construction, engineering and energy, while the existing Learning Resource Centre will be remodelled to create a dedicated higher education space, classrooms, and a high-spec CAD/BIM suite.
All of the new facilities are designed to help close the region’s skills gaps at higher technical levels and enable Carlisle College to respond to changing skills needs.
