Barrow recorded their first win in four games when they beat Doncaster 3-2 at Holker Street.
The Bluebirds are tenth in the table but if they win a game in hand of the teams ahead of them will be back in the play-off positions.
They had taken the lead on 12 minutes when Tyrell Warren, recalled to the side, leapt prodigiously to reach an Elliot Newby cross and head home.
Doncaster were looking for a third successive League win but were well held in the first-half.
It got worse eight minutes into the second half after their keeper Louis Jones had been penalised for handling outside his area.
Ged Garner’s resultant free-kick took a deflection which beat Jones to double the Barrow lead.
But three minutes later the visitors were back in contention as Joe Ironside headed home.
The game was back in the balance but five minutes from time Barrow stretched their lead when Emile Acquah drove home.
Barrow’s game management seemed to be working well in the closing stages but Doncaster were given late hope when Mo Faal netted in the fourth of the six minutes which had been added on.
Barrow saw it through to a deserved victory and will hope to make progress up the table when they visit Grimsby on Tuesday.
