Carlisle United goalkeeping coach Dave Timmins has been charged with two counts of using abusive and/or offensive language towards an official.
They follow Tuesday’s 1-1 home draw with Peterborough when Timmins was sent off after the final whistle.
It had been a highly charged and emotional finish to the game when Jordan Gibson saw a deflected shot from distance find the back of the net to earn a point.
Before that late equaliser, however, the United bench and the home crowd had shouted for three penalties but all were ignored by referee Scott Simpson.
Manager Paul Simpson aid at the time that Timmins insisted he hadn’t sworn at the referee but admitted he was angry at perceived injustices.
An experienced keeper coach Timmins is in his second spell at the club, having previously been there in 2008/9 and he also worked alongside Simpson at Shrewsbury.
Timmins has until Tuesday, October 10, to respond to the charges.
