Cleator Moor Celtic are now under their third different manager of the season in the West Lancashire League.
After Brian Dawson resigned, Dene White stepped up to take charge but he has been forced to stand down because of increased work commitments.
One official said: “It was just too much of a commitment to do the role justice for an unpaid job which is a hell of a task.”
Stuart Shaw has now stepped up from the reserves and oversaw his first game at home to Blackpool Wren Rovers in the second round of the Richardson Cup which they lost 2-1.
Adam Smith had given Celtic an early lead but Wren Rovers levelled on 27 minutes through Jacpob Aspinall and went in front two minutes before half-time with a goal from Luke Harris.
Shaw, who had been a player at Celtic for 12 years, said: “It was not the result the lads deserved and I’m gutted for everyone involved.
“All we asked of the players was to give us everything they had and to a man they gave us that.
“I don’t want to dwell on the decision that went against us just before half-time that effectively cost us the game in the end.
“That’s out of our hands but as I said to the lads after the game they can’t be too disheartened about their performance.”
