Tough away trips for Carlisle United and Barrow in FA Cup

Both Carlisle United and Barrow have tough away trips in the first round proper of the FA Cup.

Carlisle will visit Saturday’s conquerors Leyton Orient while Barrow make the trip to Northampton.

All the first round ties will be played over the first weekend in November – 3 to 6.

Today’s draw provides United with an opportunity to make amends for their League One defeat to Orient at Brunton Park yesterday.

One goal decided the contest in the Londoners’ favour and last season they went on to complete the double.

Barrow, who produced a remarkable recovery to earn a 2-2 draw at MK Dons yesterday, will travel to Northampton.

The Cobblers were promoted from League Two last season, along with Carlisle, while Barrow’s promotion challenge fell away after a bright start.

Northampton currently lie sixth bottom of League One, one place above Carlisle.
