Lake District hotel opens new waterfront bistro

A Lake District hotel has opened a new waterfront bistro.

Storrs Hall, which overlooks Windermere, has created the new dining space in the former kitchens of the building.

The Bistro offers an informal French-inspired lunch and dinner menu, served seven days a week from 12.30pm until 2pm and from 6pm until 9pm.

Andy Nicholson, general manager for Storrs Hall said: “We’re over the moon to announce that The Bistro at Storrs Hall is now open – it has been a huge amount of work relocating the kitchens and creating this new dining space, but it’s been worth it.

“We now have brand new energy efficient, state of the art kitchens and a beautiful new dining experience for our guests.

“We believe it’s one of the most picturesque dining spaces in the Lakes and we can’t wait to welcome residents and locals alike. Waterfront restaurants with great views and plenty of free parking are harder to find in the lakes than you’d think!”

Snacks are offered before starters ranging from twice baked cheddar and truffle soufflé to grilled queenie scallops with garlic butter.

Main courses include 55 day house-aged fillet steak with garlic butter, triple cooked chips and red wine, French bistro salad with blue cheese and more. Classic lemon tart, dark chocolate fondant and crème brulee also feature on the dessert menu.
