
A man and a woman were seriously injured in a fight on a Carlisle street earlier this week.
Police were called at around 6.10am on Tuesday to Gloucester Street after they received reports of people fighting.
When officers arrived, they found a woman in her 40s and a man in his 40s with serious injuries. Both were taken from to hospital with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening and remain in hospital today, October 27.
Officers made a series of arrests which have resulted in five individuals being charged:
- Amy Farrell, 45, of Thirlwell Gardens, Carlisle
- Craig Metcalfe, 42, of Silloth Street, Carlisle
- Aaron Devaney, 35, of no fixed address
- Michael Lowry, 42, of Millholme Avenue, Carlisle
- Nicky Maxwell, 33, of no fixed address
All have been charged with GBH, ABH and affray and are due to appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court today.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Story said: “It remains extremely important that anyone who saw what occurred and is yet to come forward does so immediately.
“We are particularly keen to hear from witnesses and anyone who believes they may have footage which could assist this investigation.”
Anyone who witnessed what occurred and is yet to come forward is urged to do so. Officers are also keen to hear from anyone else who may have information which could assist, as well as anyone who believes they may have captured any part of the incident, the build-up to it or the aftermath on CCTV, Ring doorbell, phone or via any other device.
