Cumbrian Freemasons have funded life-saving kit for Solway Aviation Museum.
The museum, at Carlisle Airport, asked for help from the organisation to buy a defibrillator for the site.
Head of Cumbria Freemasons, Bill Bewley teamed up with Barry Kirkbride, the head of the Mark Freemasons, and resulted in joint funding the provision of the machine, at a total cost of £1,614.
The museum is run entirely by volunteers. A Freemasons spokesman said: “By having a defibrillator on site, helps to provide a peace of mind and the means to give lifesaving assistance to anyone on site, or in the community.”
The defibrillator is mounted in a secure box outside the museum so that it can be accessed by people when the museum is closed and is full registered with the local emergency services.
