Armed police were deployed in a Lake District town after reports that a man had a knife at a hotel.
Police were called to the hotel, on Lake Road in Ambleside, at around 5.50pm yesterday, Sunday November 5.
When they arrived, he was reported to have left the area after the incident and was seen heading to Windermere.
Officers arrested the man, aged 31, at a pub on Lake Road, Windermere on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article.
He remains in police custody.
Armed officers carried out a search of a train at Windermere Railway Station while police searched for the man as a precaution, Cumbria Constabulary said.
No one was injured during the incident.
