Barrow will face another long trek in the second round of the FA Cup on December 2.
The Bluebirds have been drawn away to Maidstone United, not the reward they were looking for after a fine 3-1 win at Northampton on Saturday.
Maidstone United play in the National League South and in Saturday’s first round they won 2-0 at Chesham.
They currently lie ninth in the table nine points behind leaders Yeovil, and both have played 14 games.
They had won the title in 2021-22 to earn promotion to the National League but were relegated back after just the one season in the higher flight.
Maidstone versus Barrow was the first tie out of the hat at yesterday’s draw.
Carlisle United went out of the Cup at Leyton Orient, beaten 3-1 and their conquerors have been handed a trip to Chesterfield in round two.
