An England Rugby club developer has paid a visit to Lakes College.
Liam Nicholls put sport and public service students to the test in an intensive rugby coaching session that aimed to help develop their understanding of rugby and the careers that come from it.
The coaching session gave students an opportunity to learn directly from seasoned professional Liam, who’s role involves supporting rugby clubs and helping them continue to grow.
Liam said: ‘’It was brilliant to work with the learners at Lakes College and their enthusiasm was brilliant. Talking to them about the coaching process and how they can develop their skills in this area, is something I have always been extremely passionate about.
“I hope that it has given them some practical application examples to add to the theory they have been covering as part of their course this term.’’
The college said it wanted the opportunity to inspire students and enrich their educational journey.
Thomas Marper, curriculum team leader in sport and public services said: ‘’At Lakes College we believe in putting the academic theory into real life practice skill and putting their theory into real life situations. It was great having Liam here to show the types of careers you can end up in.’’
